This week was once again a lot of fun for the group live stream. Stream wise I added the promo hype video to the beginning when starting the stream. There were a few technical difficulties because I used it as a browser source instead of a media source. I don’t personally have the media file but instead the YouTube link. It is a really cool video showing off the general vide of our group stream.

I did about three rounds of the hunger games today. Didn’t win any of them sadly but it was fun. I think if we keep doing these we should make some point systems for multiple rounds. After the first round it still feels like there are no stakes. Overall I am excited to keep streaming these and see where it can lead.
I was not able to stream the week of March 22nd. I did however get to participate in a 12 hour live stream for my fraternity on April 10th. This was done through a main channel which I connected to and streamed to, but also I was able to have a few streams to my own channel as well.
This consisted of creating overlays for the specific content I was doing for the main stream and setting up scenes and content for the streams I was doing along with the main stream. Overall I did 4 different sets of content throughout the day of streaming. 2 of the streams Were broadcast to the agoxichapter twitch channel while the other 2 were done on my own personal channel.

The first main stream that I ran was a D&D one shot. This was a lot of fun to put together because I used a new overlay I put together and had some different players. It consisted of two different overlay setups and went pretty well.

The second stream that I did was a live broadcast of my podcast Kyber Loves Movies. I created the overlay for this one as well, and was able to communicate with the chat for then before. These streams went well, but are not on my channel because they were streamed to the agoxichapter twitch channel as part of our event.

Personal stream Content
The other two streams that I did were gaming streams that I streamed to my channel but was part of the main event stream. These games were among us and codenames. No special overlays or other assets, but I was able to capture my gameplay and the audio output from discord. These were a lot of fun to do and it was cool to do these as part of the bigger streaming event.

This week was once again a great success for the group live stream. We started with the usual round of hunger games and did a couple more after that. This week was different because I had organized a method that we could do teams. I put in all the names of the players and organized the team creation. We all then joined separate calls and were able to create a team based hunger games. I thought it was good to have a different sort of main event and different content. This was once again good to put on and I think its going well.
For this week I once again had two separate livestreams. I had the usual D&D session on Thursday which went ok and then a different type of stream on Saturday.
First the news of the D&D session. This week went well at first as I did what I said I would do and waited until everyone had joined the call and was able to have time to set everything up and go live. This ended up working well and should help make everything ready for next week. I had a guest player join in for this week so I made a different overlay setup and new scene to accommodate this. I had everything ready and set up but realized while live that I didn’t add my mic to the scene. It was a while in before I caught this so unfortunately when I switched to this scene my mic cut out until i realized and added the source back. It is my hope that in the next two streams I will be able to fix all these issues, have some more background music, and be able to have a different camera source showing more information. Although I was able to fix a lot of the issues from last week, There are still some problems I need to work out.

The second stream was not specifically planned, but was fun to do. I was able to play a few games of League of Legends as part of the clash game mode which is a tournament style special event. I streamed both games that i played and it went pretty good. I have never streamed League before so there were some technical difficulties with the game capture. It wasn’t perfect but it was good to have some different content.
Stream from Saturday April 17th
Week 2 of Minecraft hunger games was a huge success. I was able to perform better today and I think it created some good content for the stream. As a group we are all working well and I think the group aspects are going well. My have some good assets for the event and it really is an event. Getting the different perspectives on all this works well and it is exciting to see how this grows.
Somethign that I want to do is have a more established set of “events” in the group stream rather than the main hunger games events. Harrison had created other games but it seems to me that its not a part of the “show”. The best part of this is the main event of the first hunger games match, but after that it seems to die down and not seem so much as an event. More scores/stakes for the other rounds/games could lead to more engagement. Also I would love to do a type of survivor competition that brings people back every week. My only concern is that people don’t seem to be too interested din that. Ill bring it up when we meet as a group but I don’t think much will come of it.

Overall the stream this week were not great. I had two streams this week, the main session on Thursday night and a planning session the following day. Everything was ready to go at the time I usually go live at 7. Then only one person showed up at the right time. I had found out earlier that day that a few people were not going to be there for the session which was fine i could work with that. I had the countdown ready preparing to go live like usual. During this I usually get the overlay set up with zoom and everything works out. On Thursday there was nobody in my zoom so I tried a lot of different things.
Usually I only have half my OBS in studio mode to edit scenes while the stream is going with the opener overlay. So it is a little stressful setting everything up but I have gotten used to it. I thought i had the whole thing set up but wanted to get everything started so I created a quick overlay with just the zoom call. I was going to switch to the main one during the stream. This soon fell through as people started joining so I thought that it would be best to just start the main stream with the main overlay. I set this up and after resetting the timer a few times and setting everything up I went live. I later found out that the computer audio was muted, shoutout to Tate, for about the first hour of the stream. Overall I was very frazzled and overwhelmed, which caused technical difficulties.
To solve these issues I am going to not start the stream until i have everything set up, and make a checklist of everything i need to do. Ill have a smaller timer and start once everything is set up. Next week I want to have better sound in the background and not have these technical difficulties.

For the next stream, I had a stream prepping for a different session of D&D. This Saturday, my fraternity did a 12 hour live stream and I had a D&D one shot planned. For this stream I had shared my browser and I was creating some characters for this session. This was a different type of content but it was fun and I think it went well. There were a lot less technical difficulties so I am glad there was an improvement from the previous day.

Today we had a quick session of reflection and planning for the coming weeks of the minecraft group stream. The first week we did our main event Hunger games and it went fairly well. We all agreed that there was a lot to like and we were excited for more weeks to come. a lot of the things we discussed were making the game experience better and the technical aspects better. So far I have not been able to contribute to the technical setup for the hunger games mode but I do want to add a few mini games on top of the server. I think that it would be really cool to organize a weekly survivor type competition with challenges every week. I wasn’t able to work on any mini games during this planning and work session, but I am going to talk to Harrison, a fellow group member to see how to set up a possible new mini game. Besides that we all were able to contribute to new ideas and improvements that can be made for the stream itself. I probably won’t be able to have a new quick mini game by our stream this week, but hopefully next week I will be able to have something set up. The first thing i am looking to create is a simple archery challenge.
For my group live stream, I decided to work with a bunch of others all streaming some Minecraft. This opening stream was the first week for Minecraft hunger games. We all had a matching logo for the stream and met up initially in discord. This was nice because there was more opportunity to control the stream and also talk to any viewers watching. I went live a little bit before the rest of the others and so i got to comment and show a lot of the setup and prep for the game. Overall it was a lot of fun to be playign with all the others who were streaming. I want to continue this and possibly look into other event things we can do on the minecraft server.
